Game Design
Since 2016 I've been working in tabletop game design and production. My Designs have been featured by PAX Rising, Indiecade, The Indie Megabooth, Boston Festival of Indie Games, Playcrafting, and the Tabletop Co-op.
Offcut Games is the company I started to design and produce tabletop games. Over the last few years we've run several crowdfunding campaigns to self publish games like "Expect Delays", "KÖ-OP", "Status Report!", and "Complicated Board Game the Card Game" which have since been successfully manufactured and distributed around the world.

Production Work
I've spent over a decade in NYC running shops, creating props, and building scenery for organizations like The Stella Adler Studio of Acting, Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, The Martha Stewart Show, and New York Stage and Film. Currently, I'm the Technical Director for Sands College of Performing Arts at Pace University.
My fabrication skill sets are varied and include carpentry, MIG welding, theatrical rigging, video editing, laser-cutting, 3D Printing, scenic painting and more. I'm also skilled in a host of software applications including Auto-Cad, the Adobe Suites, Audacity, and Q-lab.

But what if this furniture isn’t just something to play on, but rather, are incredible games themselves? Casting Without Components: RPG rules that halt the story Wafflegames 6.0 2023/PAX West 2019/PAX East 2019
"Some tabletop RPG rules are great on paper but grind your story to a halt in practice. A spell caster’s need for materials is great world building, but who wants to spend their whole session haggling for discounts at the shop? Surely there are less cumbersome ways to calculate carrying capacity? Join us as for a brief look at our favorite games from D&D to Alternity as we discuss the best rules to modify, break, or throw out in our search for the perfect tabletop experience!"
Artistic Visions: The Artist/Designer Relationship Nonepub 2020
"Making sure that you have great art in your game is essential in this crowded market. But what's the best way together to make that happen? How can you make sure that the designer's vision and the artist's vision mesh? In this panel, Heather and Doug of Kids on Bikes and Pat and Alisha of Offcut Games will talk about their work on and how to maintain communication and rapport between artists and designers."
Good Vexations Podcast
Good Vexations is a short format weekly podcast I produced, edited and co-hosted with my friend James Lynch. "Remember when we only had small, frivolous problems? Join best buds Patrick Brennan and James Lynch as they spend 20 minutes every Wednesday on the little grievances they'd prefer to air rather than solve."
Brendan Bradley Innovation Lab NYU 2017
"A two week intensive program designed to explore the intersection of theater, technology, and game theory."

"This week on the pod, we dive into the New York independent games scene. The Science of Game Design Produced by Meghan Bartels and Sandy Ong NYU 2016
"When it comes to game design, taking a spark of inspiration and turning it into reality isn’t all fun and games. It’s an actual science and there are schools devoted to teaching just that. We talked to Frank Lantz, director of the NYU Center for Game Design, and industry veteran Avonelle Wing from Double Exposure, for a quick introduction to how game design works.
But to get a real taste for the highs and lows of the process, we talked to first-time game designers Patrick Brennan and Jason Turner about their new game: Complicated Board Game the Card Game. They tell us how they’ve gone from idea to implementation with iterative playtesting and their plans to turn what started out as a hobby into a successful side business."
